Trips

Our students had the fantastic opportunity to participate in a variety of educational trips, each designed to provide enriching experiences and enhance classroom learning.
The week started with the History Doctor Show on Monday, where GCSE History students took part in an interactive revision session on the History of Medicine. The session was engaging and fast-paced, helping students bring their studies to life through hands-on activities.
On Wednesday, English Literature students attended Poetry Live. They enjoyed captivating live performances from renowned poets and had the chance to ask questions during a Q&A session. The event offered fresh insights into the poetry they had been studying and left many feeling inspired.
Thursday saw all of Year 7 venture out for Cultural Capital Day, visiting the Sea City Museum and Southampton Art Gallery. The day focused on art and history, giving students a deeper understanding of the world around them through fascinating exhibits and activities.
Friday was a particularly busy day, with two separate trips taking place. One group of students participated in the RE Places of Worship trip, visiting various churches to deepen their understanding of different faiths and religious practices. Meanwhile, three invited students visited Kings School, where they had the unique opportunity to meet Winchester’s newly elected MP, Danny Chambers. The students shared their experiences of secondary school life and engaged in insightful discussions about the local community.
It was certainly a packed week, but the knowledge and experience gained will stay with our students for years to come. These trips not only supported their academic studies but also sparked curiosity and enthusiasm for learning beyond the classroom walls.
