The Henry Beaufort School provides a varied and engaging RE curriculum in accordance with the Hampshire Agreed Living Difference IV Syllabus. Concepts are explored in relation to the following religions or topics:

The Henry Beaufort RE curriculum and teaching supports students in gaining a better understanding of the depth and breadth of differences and similarities in religions and beliefs. Students are encourage to explore, question and respond to concepts chosen to ensure they have a space to consider their own and others’ beliefs, cultures and life experiences.
RE lessons continue into the Year 9 offer for students and are further supported by bi-weekly tutor sessions where students evaluate, debate and discuss philosophy, ethics and current affairs. Termly Personal Development days also allow upper school students to explore a topic in depth for the day.
The Henry Beaufort School is pleased to uphold the statutory requirement to teach RE, as it allows an excellent opportunity to support our students in developing British Values. We have an inclusive approach to RE to ensure students’ voices are respectful and respected. Parents currently maintain the right to withdraw from RE lessons. If you would like to withdraw your child from RE please contact the Subject Leader for RE to arrange a time to discuss an alternative or adjusted provision.
